Heather Newman, senior executive director of marketing and communications in the Office of University Development, spoke about efforts to “reimagine” email marketing at U-M to meet legal obligations, contain costs, and provide a consistent and well-branded email experience. The Campus Email Marketing Solutions core team has gained approval from the university's executive officers for a centralized approach to email marketing. Standards development, a consolidated data repository and global unsubscribe feature, and new funding options are some of the ideas under consideration.
